The Jericho library invites the community to enjoy this program led by Marc Courtade today at 2 p.m.
In this program, Courtade explores the life and career of Carole Lombard, one of the greatest stars of all time and the queen of screwball comedy. She became a major star with her performance in Twentieth Century in 1934. Lombard was the highest paid actress in Hollywood by the end of the decade. Her films included My Man Godfrey, Nothing Sacred, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and To Be or Not to Be.
She was married to William Powell but continued to star in films with him despite their divorce. She was married to Clark Gable until her death. This is a tribute to a great star and a great lady.
