Back To School In Syosset-Jericho


BackToSchool_091615AStudents in Syosset headed back to school to kick off the 2015-16 school year on Sept. 1. Throughout the district, students met their new teachers and classmates and were given an overview of what to expect for the upcoming year.

BackToSchool_091615D“The opening of school went very smoothly,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Thomas Rogers. “We look forward to a great year, full of many opportunities for our students. I wish our entire student body and all staff members a successful year ahead.”

To kick off the 2015-16 school year, the Syosset Central School District celebrated the class of 2016 with a senior picnic.

The Syosset High School seniors enjoyed the afternoon with music and lunch and received their school apparel. The seniors also signed their names on the class of 2016 mural, which will be displayed outside of the school for the remainder of the year.BackToSchool_091615I

Meanwhile, students at Village Elementary were nonetheless excited to kick off a new academic year. As they stepped off their buses, excited to meet their new teachers and see their friends, the children were happily greeted by Principal Kasper and other staff members.

Seniors_091615BDr. Thomas Rogers, Superintendent of the Syosset Central School District, was even on hand to welcome students back for what is certain to be another wonderful year at Village.
