Jericho Welcomes New Rabbi

Herman with his wife Karina

The Jericho Jewish Center installed Rabbi Benjamin Herman and its new spiritual leader in a ceremony last month. A record turnout of congregants filled the sanctuary as Rabbi Bill Lebeau took great pleasure in the honor of installing his former student as the new rabbi at Jericho.

As Herman walked up to the bima (podium), he was accompanied by students of the temple’s Hebrew School, singing Hatikvah, the Jewish National anthem. President Mark Wilkow welcomed everyone, thanking the search committee for their wonderful choice of Rabbi Benjamin Herman.

Herman’s remarks reflected his hope that in the years to come, the level of education and observance that had always been prevalent at the Jericho Jewish Center will continue under his spiritual leadership.
