Crash Closes LIE in Jericho


A multivehicle crash closed the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Jericho for more than six hours early Wednesday, according to authorities.

In a traffic advisory, Nassau County police said the crash occurred at 12:39 a.m. between exits 40 and 41; the LIE was not reopened until 6:57 a.m.

The accident involved an overturned box truck, a tractor trailer and a car, resulting in minor injuries. None of the injuries are considered serious.
