jsA group of exceptional mathematics students from Nassau County, including a Jericho student, recently traveled to Pennsylvania for the American Regions Math League (ARML) Competition.

The ARML competition draws the top mathematics students from across the country, so the competition is intense. Nassau had three 15-person teams competing, and they all had respectable finishes, including 15th place out of 50 teams in the B Division for Nassau B-1. Four-time member of the All-Star Team Kevin Huang, a senior from Jericho High School, was the top scorer on the team. Huang will attend Harvard this fall.

This competition is held simultaneously at four sites across the country, including Penn State, where the Nassau All-Stars competed. The All-Stars Team is comprised of the 50 top-ranked math students from all the schools in Nassau County. They practice weekly under the guidance of Thomas Weisswange and Kevin Meyers to prepare for this and other competitions.

Any school interested in joining should contact Meyers at: kmeyers917@aol.com.
