snowdaySyosset students, no need to worry about your snow days just yet. Superintendent Ron Friedman says that while all three snow days have been used so far, no days will have to be added to the end of the school year at this time.

“The good news is that we actually have added some ‘virtual snow days’ in our calendar, and those are the two extra days around the Memorial Day weekend,” Friedman posted on Facebook last night. “Most districts are only closed for three days at Memorial Day. We close for five days, with the understanding that we may need to reclaim one or two of those five days if need be.”

So, if Wednesday’s storm results in another snow day, one of the Memorial Day weekend vacation days will be taken away, leaving students with a four-day weekend instead of a five-day weekend.
