Woodbury Gym Thief Sought


thiefPolice are looking for a man who stole cash, credit cards and a watch from an unlocked locker at Equinox Fitness Club in Woodbury on Jan. 14.

Between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. police say a white man described as having a medium build, thin face, goatee, and 40 to 50 years of age entered the club on Jericho Turnpike and took the items out of the 43-year-old male victim’s locker.

It was later discovered that the victim’s credit cards had been used to purchase merchandise in various department stores throughout Nassau County.

Police say on Jan. 15, a man who appears to be the same suspect entered the LA Fitness Club on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown between 12:15 p.m. and 2:05 p.m. and broke into a 54-year-old man’s locker and removed his car keys.

The victim later discovered that his wallet containing cash, credit cards, airline tickets and an iPhone had also been taken from his locked 2014 Jeep. Police say the victim’s credit cards were also used at a nearby department store to purchase merchandise.
