2 Teens Located, 1 Still Missing

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating three teen boys who left MercyFirst residential facility on foot Sunday afternoon.

Shakeem Smith, described as a 5’3″ and 122 pounds, was last seen leaving 525 Convent Rd. at 3:21 p.m., along with Gabriel Hernandez, 16, and Jonathan Acevedo, 15. Police say Smith has the mental capacity of an 8-year-old and takes medications for mood swings.

Hernandez has black hair and brown eyes and is 5’4″. Acevedo is described as 5’6″ with black hair and brown eyes.

If you see any of these boys, police say to dial 911 immediately or call the Nassau County Police Department’s Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347.
